Hmm... Not that I'm trying to start a fight, but... I almost have to disagree with Erik. I like the original picture more. I think it had a nice backdrop and a nice mood to it. The background did nothing to take away from the subject. Almost made her pop out more. Which I know seems strange but a good background can do that. Either way great photo and either way its all just a matter of opinion. and Erik has far greater photo's than I so maybe we will just leave this stuff to the experts ;)

Definitely better than the original framing as far as I'm concerned. ;o)
The advantage of your crop, compared with my workshop on your original photo, is that you cropped less on the right side. As a result of that, you were able to preserve the beautiful light on the right extremity of your model's hair...
