[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
in greek mythology, it is referred to both the underworld, the afterlife, and the god of the dead.

the deceased entered the underworld by crossing the river acheron, also called the styx, ferried across by charon, who charged an obolus, a small coin for passage, placed under the tongue of the deceased by pious relatives. paupers and the friendless gathered forever on the near shore. the far side of the river was guarded by cerberus, the three-headed dog defeated by heracles (roman hercules). beyond cerberus, the shades of the departed entered the land of the dead to be judged.

this abandoned pier was taken during my stay in kish island, iran while strolling near the beach. the sun was streaking too much light that i had to underexpose the clouds and later on post-processed it thru photoshop. i added the blue hue for a dark and sad mood.

oooh I like this bro! Very atmospheric and forbidding. The aperture/exposure and post processing work well but my favourite bit is the point-of-view, looking down the skeletal throat of that ruined pier. Nice!!

Nice atmosperic shot. good title, excellent composition and an interesting PP treatment

Excellent moody shot with a well chosen title. Composition is very good and colouring works well. Put a large film title across this and it could be a backdrop for a cinama poster.

I noticed your shot in the presentation pages, immediatly.
Colors, pov and sharpness are just prefect. Really impressive work.Your note is exellent too,I've seen yesterday "Clash of the Titans" a movie from 1981 (I think) where the sceen you discribe iwth Charon passing the river Styx.

I see it in this way. "the lost temple".
