Coastal Iris, Iris atropurpurea, endemic to Isreal

Most of the Irises in Israel are endemic, and grow only in few places. Therefore, all the species are protected.

Iris atropurpurea Dinsmore - grows in the Sharon & Pleshet areas. Most of the species' original distribution area became urban areas, and the species remained only in few nature reserves.
