[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Nahal Zavitan is the longest of the Golan Heights' streams, and one of the most beautiful among them. The Zavitan is one of the six perennial streams that descend to Beit Tzaida (Bethsaida) basin. The stream is called Zavitan [angular] becouse of the extreme turns it takes while carving its way through the basalt rocks. Its length is 19 km [~12 miles]. the stream digs its way through gorges and canyons. on its wat it includes some impressive pools like Brekhat HaMeshushim (Hexagons Pool - the rocks around the pool have a hexagon shap). The streams Zavitan and Meshushim are joined together and flow until they discharge their water to the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret).  The stream flows all year long through the black basalt rocks, which get extremely hot during summer, but its water is very cool.

hello Tsilla

I see that from your profile you have quite a bit of travel around the world, how nice to do so with a camera!

Actually I was not sure what this would be at the thumbnail with the title but the full view gives me a surprise to see the 2 people at the pool with the cracked ground pattern. I find it hard to realise these are rocks, they may appear like hard clay material. But very interesting to see the pool and the composition done here really shows a great scene. Very delightful color. Good shot.

Greetings from Borneo. tfs, bill

HI Tsilla
At first I thought the cracks in the rocks had been done by pps. Interesting note and extremely fascinating nature shot.

Hi Tsilla,
Interesting POV of this stream, very good observation and captureof geometrical shapes in the nature. Excellent sharpness on the stones, beautiful greenish colour of the water. It was great to include that couple, so the viewes can get a scale. TFS.
