[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This pair of flying flowers (please do not quote me for the names, I am no expert in orchids so I just enjoy giving them names by how they look), were photographed last week at the Utopia Orchid Park. As I shot quite a couple of pictures, I will keep posting them for a while.

Technical note
Being a holiday (shavuot) the park was quite crowded so I decided using the tripod would not be practical. So I used the flash, bounced with a device that is an updated version of this one, without the useless lower part. I am not completely satisfied with the results, as the light is still not soft enough.

Very attractive lady slippers. The pouch along with the petals are prominent. It is tough to bring a tripod in a busy public place. Good presentation. Best regards.

dear Tibi,
yes these orchid flowers look like flying anything with long elegant wings, in my feeling they are combat planes...
anyway very interesting and impressive figure you took and show me, the shape of these plants looks moving though they are still, it is strange, but there may be any reasons on their evolution.
thank you for your nice macro shot,
Akihisa

Beautiful "winged" orchids Tibi. I'll be looking forward to your future posting. Super clarity and rich colors. Have you set the D 300 on vibrant?

Hello Tibi

Beautiful arrangement of orchids.
I like simplicity of the post, they put of great effect
in the details of the petals, of beautiful colors, light and delicate.
Good presentation and a beautiful post!

Hi Tibi,
The flowers remind me of a pair of slippers hanging on a clothes-line!
Very good sharpness, detail and DOF. Lovely colors and BG.
