[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The hot springs and baths of Hammamat Ma’een have been enjoyed for therapeutic and leisure pursuits for thousands of years. The public springs and commercial resort area are located 35 kilometers southwest of Madaba, along a winding road which crosses some of the most spectacular territory around the Dead Sea. It is, however, impossible to drive directly from Hammamat Ma’een to the Dead Sea. Hammamat Ma’een should not be confused with the actual town of Ma’een, which is 15 kilometers before the springs. The main public attraction is a large spring-fed waterfall. Shower facilities and a swimming pool are also available for public use.

WOW WOW WOW!

Now THIS brings make happy memories for me. The day I visited Madaba was alas a little overcast and very cold as it was late February and alot of snow had recently fallen in the area. Did you know that KIng Herod (in the bible) is known to have bathed in these warm waters of the waterfall?

GReat POV used here Moncef, An awesome photo of an awesome spectacle of nature. Loks like you had terific weather too.

Regards and TFS...

hi Moncef

Very interesting to note the mineral-rich part of the rock face which get deposits from the hot spring water. This must be popular place for visitors with such convenient facitilites.

Hi Moncef,
Sri Lanka has its share of hot springs, but nothing as spetaculer as this. Looks delightful. Nice contrast with the blue sky and the overall composition.
