Here at our base camp, we had American fastfood. Not only a Burger King, but a Subway sitting next door.

When you are half a world away from home, it's nice to see (and occasionally eat) familiar foods such as those offered here. I do think they could do a bit more with their landscaping scheme however. :o)

Regards,

Phil

hahahahahah!

You can take the boy away from junkfood, but not junkfood away from the boy!:D

rather sad to see that you have to eat that junkfood out there... why not try the local specialty for a change and try to blend like you did in your other shots...? just my thought interesting everyday life shot phil;-) thanks !

Very funny shot Phil! We should've known the fast food would follow our troops out there! Even though it's not the healthiest stuff, I am sure it is quite nice to see something familiar.
Stay safe and God bless

Phil, this is incredible! I've worked 12 years in the belgian army and I've never seen something equivalent in any exercise

Phil, heard you were getting some home comforts out there so go ahead and enjoy them. Also like the colourful trailer. Doreen

:/ brrrrrrrrrr feeee:)

they are everywhere! so those soldiers felt like home! ;-)even on Kuwait desert!

symbols of american emperyalism.. and soldiers..

I think this shot is very interesting. The few times I've been out of the country, it's these little "tastes" of american life that always surprised me. Like a Wal-mart in Puerto Vallarta, or as here the taste from home. Very nice bright colors contrasting the browns of the ground and uniforms. Nicely captured Phil, TFS.

A shocking sight, really. I can imagine that it's comforting to have it, though. Not the best physical fuel for a solider, probably, but I imagine it's good for the emotions. Fascinating, unexpected document. Thanks for sharing. -Hugh
