Hi and warm greetings from my Home land… :)

*Lebanon*

Took this shot last night during my usual "let's go for a drive mood", basically my special time of the day to stroll around the narrow streets of the old towns and talk about History and origins… plus with a smile, and lots of fresh breeze mixed with mystery and fascination… and good snacks!!

In this post, I didn’t have my Tripod with me, but I always say: being creative is simply being unlimited, basically it takes different shapes and faces, "no matter what it takes, "just Do it" (Nike), so I placed my cam on top of my jeep and took that shot, came back home and did the following:

1: adjusted the colors… darkened and saturated..
2: highlights/shadow/ tones , midtones, and midway between Artwork and Realwork!
3: added a reflection effect in B/W
4: crop a bit …. from the history book and share with you the Following:

Saint Stephan’s Cathedral /Batroun/Lebanon…..
From the marketplace the visitor goes to the Maronite Saint –Stephan Cathedral (achieved at the beginning of the 20th century). It is one of the biggest and most beautiful churches of Lebanon .It overlooks the fishermen’s port. Its design was made by the Italian architect Giusape Maggiore who also supervised its construction. Its pattern is a mixture of Byzantine and Roman arts with some influence from the Gothic art .The cathedral’s stones are sandy from Batroun and it consists of a main nave and two wards in the direction of the east west .It has three altars, the principal among which, in the center, has above it a painting of Saint Stephan by the Italian painters-Giosti.

My new series of photos from Lebanon… will be posting more soon…

Wish you all a great summer and more inspiration for this season…
Will see you around here soon :)

C/C are welcome…

Hey you,

:) good to see you and your home land again. I hope you are doing great (hope to talk to you soon, I kinda missed you by a few seconds yesterday ;))

Every time I see your work, I am speechless. This one is great. I like your composition and POV here, PP work and colors are great with excellent sharpness and details.

Now that I finished with tech talk (ahaha)...I like your style - JUST DO IT. When it comes to photography or art (or anything else) I have the same saying. Just do it, take the chance...what will be will be. :):):) Que sera, sera :):):)

Have a great day and I'll catch up with you...later ;)

Hugs,

Stasa

Bonjour Suzy
Henri

It s very bad you go out without tripod!
I can not understand women going out without tripod!
but you captured a good effect and the pov is good
good effect of the two rockets crossing the old door ;)
well in light effect

Hi Suzy,
No tripod and still a fantastically clear night shot what was your ISO setting for this it is brilliant. The colours are surreal on the terracotta building and the trace lights from the car add to the moment - for a hand held on a long exposure you must have held your breath for a while. TFS

Hello Suzy, an interesting shot.I like the composition.
I am fascinated by the 'ghosts' of a building on the right hand side, are they statues?
Tfs, regards Jean.

Amazing light and details
Great POV

Hi Suzy,
Without a tripod you managed to compose a very good posting. The star-like effect from the street lamps, the streak of light from the passing cars, and the excellent tone make this very appealing. We can't carry a tripod always but I think if you had, there would be more sharpness on the building facade. Best regards...
Danilo

dear Suzy,
an excellent contrast between the dark and the light.
really the world looks sandwiched between two...
the silent voice of darkness is heard from your picture,
and the vigor voice of light is absorbed into darkness.
people think the beginning of the world is the light, but I really think it is darkness, the light was simply born from the darkness, watching this your picture.
thank you,
Akihisa

Hi Suzy

Interesting architecture,good POV,nice tones.
Very well done

Ciao Suzy

Beautiful architecture, warm light,
super shape throughout the building details, I like
the repetition of windows and details on top
construction.
Beautiful palms decorate the entrance arch,
Ah .. and a car went very fast leaving
a risk to your nice warm light.
A great effect!
Greetings my friend ..

Hi Suzy,

Wonderfully artistic composition. I like your "just do it" attitude and creativity to compensate for the missing tripod. Really fantastic POV and your PP work adds an aire of mystery.

Nicely contrasting with the barely visible buildings of the background, giving the lit building a great dimension.

Hi Suzy,
Awesome shot! The lighting is great, interesting motion blur from the car too. F/16 has created a deep DOF and turned the streetlight into a star at the same time. May I suggest cropping a little bit more off the right hand side to get rid of the stray streetlight. An otherwise excellent image, informative note too (great idea to use the roof for stability, lol). Well done.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Suzi, It is always a challenge with such a night shot hand held, but your result is better than most. Good POV and interesting textures and notes. TFS. Murray
