| Twenty kilometers from Denizli in western Turkey lies a place of fantasy...it's called Pamukkale. From a cliff above the village flows a hot spring (30-50°C), charged with calcium. Over the thousands of years, the source has made on snow-white "palace of cotton." In July and August the tourists are up to their ears in warm water. But, go there, as I did, in late September...all alone...a dream!! No wonder that it was chosen by the king of Pergammon 2000 years ago, and which went by thge name of Hiérapolis. Wet your cold feet in these waters and drift back 2 millennia! |

Hello Michael... I know this beauty... It could be seen every day of a year; it has magnificent colours for each day... Thank you for sharing...
Can
Beautiful display of colour and an interesting geography lesson. Thanks for sharing this work of art.
Hi Michael!
I was at Pamukkale this July, it's amazing! I took shots of the white rocks, never had the opportunity to make such a beautiful picture as yours. I love the tranquile, romantic colours and beautiful reflexions in the water. The sky is marvellous!
TFS!
Marija:)
