Looking down on Lake Van and the mountains of eastern Turkey from 38,000'. I went for a tilted angle and darkened the sky to give an 'orbital' style view.

This is from last winter - sadly its too hot, humid and dusty to be out with the camera in Dubai at the moment so an archive shot.

Your horizon is tilted David :) just kidding, awesome photo, amazing shapes and very eye catching, well photographed.

good work .. bravo .
harout.

Orbital is certainly the word - it has a real sense of those space-shuttle shots. Truly a unique glimpse of the Earth.

Hi David,

For a moment you had me thinking this was an orbital photo. LOL. Orbital as in "are you an astronaut?" LOL. :-) Quite spectacular!

Awesome photo David. Very effective and superb clarity. NIce one. TFS.

Hi David

Wow! The diagonal view adds superb dynamism, & the high altitude gives a view, that only an astronaut could empathise with. The blue & white colours go well together. Excellent sharpness & framing. Tfs!

Hi David,
Fantastic PoV of Turkey and it certainly does look out of this world, the colours and perspective is fantastic. TFS

Hi David,
It's like from the outer space... I didn't know that you also have a licence for spaceships and that astronauts have so much time to photograph during a trip. :) Besides the jokes, it's a wonderful winter scene above Turkey, I like the vast snowy landscape below. The rotation was a good idea for such composition, great job! TFS!
Greetings,
Kristof

Thanks for the vieuw David,I know this place from long long time ago from the Paul Theroux book the Great railway bazaar, the big stimulator for me to travel east;]].
Pretty good impression of the globe and the desolation of the lake.
Nice one mate.

I'm lovin the tilted images you have been posting lately David! REALLY cool, extreme wide angles! You aren't afraid to get out there! That makes you a great photographer! This is surreal! HAHA! I feel like I am in a space ship! What a grand job you have! Amazing, I feel like I am falling into outer space!
B-)
Linda

Hi David,

HA!!! I thought I was on the moon at first glance, but at second glance I realized "there's no water on the moon"!. Really an interesting shot. The deep blue sky and the tilt make me think of outer space. Very effective. I bet you wanted to be an astronaut when you were a kid.... or a "space cadet" LOL :) Lisa

Hi David,
Briliant picture, as if you are in space. Remembers me at the Muppet Show: "Pigs in space" :-) (don't take this personal. Anyway the contrast here is superb even like the dark blue colours and teh stunning star called 'sun'. The rotation creates indeed a special effect, well chosen idea.
Hans

Amazing impact! Very effective sun-like flash; I like!

Your angled shot works very well indeed. Not many fortunate enough to have this pov but you have capitalised on the opportunity. TFS
warm regards

I find this picture very interesting I cant figure out wether it is just the fact that you tilted it or if it is just that awesome. I have to say the you have presented this beautifully. TFS
Christan

Hi David...nice shot..the tilt is interesting. Great view from up there....

Roger

Hi David,
Wicked shot!! For a second there I thought you'd been to space! Awesome blue hues, they blend well with the white mountains. Very original and unique capture, impressive work.

TFS,
Scott.

Hie David,

Wow this is such a breathtaking view...did you take this shot from the cockpit? it's hard for me to take these type of pic because most of the windows of any aircraft have scratches or blocked by 'frozen water droplets'..for this pic perhaps you can reduce the tilt a little to make it looks more like a spaceshot.
I would like to share of my my aerial photos with you. you can view it at http://www.treklens.com/gallery/photo281881.htm

TFS,
Hong

P.S. Enjoy your trip to Capetown..is that gonna be your first time ?

Hello David,

Great shot from above. I wish we could meet and give me some points in photography.

Regards,
sgtpepe
