Hi John,
Van je geloof gevallen? Hahahahaha..
Excellent capture of this impressive mosque, a fine tribute to our Turkish friends, they deserve it at fine TL members.
The compositon of immage is perfect, I'm a bit doubting about the sharpness and brithness (appears a bit OE in the clouds). Overall a geat JT image.
Wish you a fine trip John, together with Yolanda, Jens and his wife!

Hi John,
This is a beautiful architectural photo. Excellent rendered of colors considering that you took it against the light!
Well, congratulations for your new camera and your projects. After 35 000 green smileys, you can make a lot of green bank-notes with your photos!

Hi John,
Enjoy your trip to Turkey, Istanbul is a great place with plenty of photo opportunities. And this is a great capture of the Blue mosque (Aya Sofia was probably behind you when you took the shot) without the tourists and buses that most of my shots of this mosque include. The sky looks a little over processed though.

I understand where you are coming with the camera purchase. I went through the same "emotion" but with Nikon. I am very happy with my choice. When will we see the first image from the 40D?
Like the way the turrets break up the sky and the greenery breaks up the gray stone.
Congratulations on the 35,000 milestone, WOW!

Congratulations John, there's certainly no crime in enjoying points, they keep egos healthy and relationships strong in TL. So does 35,000 make you the wealthiest member now?
Nice shot, interesting view - I guess it would be interesting to see it a little sharper and I'm not sure what the dark smudge or the blurred edge is about with your frame (bottom left) but they're minor details. This shot leaped out from the thumbnail and begged to be seen!

Congratulations cher frere for the milestone, this is quite an achievment and it shows how dedicated and very active on TL you are.
And this is a great picture to celebrate it!
Love the way you captured it in this angle and this pov. And the fg brings nice delicate details to the architecture and to the comp.
I was wondering what was the line above the mosque but David answered for me.
And I like very much in the ws the images, I see that red (my fav colour by the way, is also their favourite colour).
Also, congratulations with your new camera and I wish you lots of fun and satisfactions. I hope next time you will by a full frame because this is the way to go if you want to sell your pictures :) So if you buy lenses, make sure that they will be able to go on a full frame ;)
Take care and have a safe cruise.

Interesting photo - the title mix-up is forgivable: I looked up both, and they seem very similar at first glance (exterior). Difference would be the Hagia Sophia was originally a Byzantine Christian Church, and to this day a marvel in architecture (largest dome)that set the benchmark for other architects to follow (as in this example).
Cheers

Hi John,
Have a nice vacation, my Friend... And good luck to the new cam. Do and share as nice photos with us as this, if not better - because here, on this one the sky, being exact the white clouds got OE. A pity.
Also congrats for reaching the 35000 points border.
I lamentated a bit: add or not to add, but finally I add: by my opinion this is not Your best photo. I mean it's not a bad one, but comparing to really a lot of others from You, not an outstanding either. I think You uploaded it only for the occasion You'll soon travel to Turkey, and not really due to its quality. What I really don't like on it, as said above, is the OE.
I truly hope You catch my POV and we remain friends - and friends have to be honest with each others.
