Now this is a better close up - the light is more even with better exposure helped by the fact that the flower is in shadow therefore more diffused light.

The focus is sharp on the petals but if you look at the centre of the flower it's still a little out of focus. May I suggest you go into aperture priority and set a slightly smaller aperture such as f6.3 to get a deeper Depth of field and more sharpness.. Most cameras will let you go into the menu and choose the aperture in a manual mode.

I like the colour of this too.
