Alsancak
Alsancak,old name is Punto, is a symbol of İzmir over the years. It has a part in work of arts of lots of fameous traveler and poets. Victor Hugo compared with İzmir to a prencess in his "La Captive" poem in his book of "Les Orientales". Poem is,
İzmir is a prencess with its very beautifull litle hat.
Happy springs answer contuniously its call.
It shine amongs the seas how the flower smile in a vase.
Moreover, passionate than creation of Arşipel.

Big poet Hugo was affected İzmir founded and named by an Amazon Quenn even he never came to İzmir. He tald this words about Frenk Ward in Alsancak. There lived welthy peaople in Alsancak. There are still some architecture among of those term on two side of Kıbrıs Şehitleri Caddesi


Alsancak
Eski adı Punto olan Alsancak yıllar boyu İzmir'in simgesi olmuştur. Dünyaca ünlü birçok seyyah ve yazarın şiir ve eserlerinde yer almıştır. Victor Hugo 1829 yılında yayınlanan "Les Orientales" isimli kitabındaki "La Captive" isimli şiirinde ünü batıya yayılan İzmir'i bir prensese benzetir. Şiir şöyledir; "İzmir, bir prensestir çok güzel küçük şapkasıyla. Mutlu ilkbaharlar durmaksızın onun çağrısına yanıt verir. Nasıl vazo içindeki çiçekler gülümserse, O da denizler arasından ışıldar. Hatta Arşipel'in yaratılışından çok daha tutkulu...." Dünya edebiyatında silinmez izler bırakan şair Hugo, İzmir'e gelmemesine karşın kentin ününden efsaneli büyüsünden ve bir amazon kraliçesi tarafından kurulup isimlendirilmesinden etkilenmiştir. Bahsettiği ise İzmir'in yoksul ve çöküntü halindeki mahalleleri değil, Alsancak sınırları içindeki Frenk Mahallesi'dir. Alsancak'ta Levantenler Rumlar, Ermeniler, zengin diğer batılı kesimler oturmaktadır. Kıbrıs Şehitleri Caddesi'nin iki tarafında uzanan bu dönemlerden kalma yapılar değişik ve özgün mimarileriyle halen bir inci gibi dizilir.

Nice composition. The weather is cats and dogs. Good colours and DOF. I like the water splashin to the land. Also I like your note.

I just thought about going to Izmir. Think now to wait a while. lol
But in Holland now the weather looks the same.

Choppy sea! Looks like it was windy! Hazy in the distance - or is it rain? Not many people about appreciating the location. Perhaps all lined up behind you or sitting at coffee shop. I would have gone for the latter option.
'Soft' to me but I will not even mention it. Ooops! I just did.

Is it a photo? Or is it a work of art? It looks nice but it looks a bit more like a painting.. Not that it is bad it isn't.. I actually like it..

rüzgarlı bir havada, denizde fırtına koparken dağların hafif puslu görüntüsü orada bu fırtınadan eser olmadığını anlatmış. çarpan dalganın sıçrattığı su taneleri yrinde bir enstantane seçiminin işareti. EGS şenay..
