A beautifully dramatic scene!
The technique of placing the horizon midway in the photograph is usually recommended for photographs of reflections, or where there is some other significant object in the shot.
In this case, though, I think you have done well to break the rules - the land and sky are almost negatives of each other, and it creates a striking "anti reflection." This is an impressive shot - well done, TFS.
