Hi my Trekfriends! I've just returned from a 4 day trip to Turkey. Ederne is the first large town that one meets on the highway from the Bulgarian-Turkish border to Istanbul. It's an ancient town, that has been contested by many armies and inhabited by many folks. Since the 14 century it has been Turkish. The main landmark of the town is the Selemiye Mosque, built in the 16th century by the famous Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan.
I took the shot from the narrow space between the mosque and the surrounding wall. My objective was to depict the strife for Heaven, reflected in the architecture. And the wires between the minarets... Well, I could easily have cloned them out. But they are like the cobweb, that often connects the celestial with the earthly in our souls. |
