[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Blue Mosque seen from Hagia Sofia. In this photo I like the tones of gray. Even the gray sky suites here well.

The surface of the roof looks like lead plates. Maybe they are made of lead because the roofs at least in Hagia Sofia are hundreds of years old and still looking fine. Does someone know?

As shot (="documentary"). No cropping. Added some sharpness to compensate web resolution. Minor framing. I reposted this because the original had lost a lot of resolution when chanced to web resolution. This one is bigger.

Wiki:The Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Turkish: Sultanahmet Camii) is the national mosque of Turkey, and is a historical mosque in Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey and the capital of the Ottoman Empire (from 1453 to 1923). The mosque is one of several mosques known as the Blue Mosque for the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior. It was built between 1609 and 1616, during the rule of Ahmed I. Like many other mosques, it also comprises a tomb of the founder, a madrasah and a hospice.

Hello Pentti,
I love the look of the old roofs... the tones work very well... keeping our focus on the subject and not a bright blue sky! Nice details as well.
