BOATSWAIN'S PIPE P.II
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A boatswain's pipe or boatswain's whistle (pronounced "Bosun") is a whistle that is made of a tube that directs air over a grape-sized metal sphere with a hole cut in the top. The player’s finger holds the sounding chamber and causes a change in the pitch by opening and closing the hole.
The historical use of the boatswain's pipe was as a signaling device on a ship. Because of its high pitch, it could be heard over the activities of the crew and bad weather.
And it is still used in marine on the ships to inform the crew if the captain is on board or left the ship.the same ceremony happens at the hatchway everytime with the crew on guard for the commander of the ship or for the high ranked guests.
Yesterday I had started a serie of this whistlers. This was the second shot from the competition between the blowers and three more shots behind to share with you.

this is pretty charming, and I really like the b&w. Also like the guy on the left looking at his pipe and the other guy looking forward. Nice capture of the competition. regards, ck

Of this series of pictures that you did, I adore all
she would give points for all, but I liked this more
All are classic, rich in you detail it, and in B/W
they were perfect, a great work.
