BOATSWAIN'S PIPE P .III
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A boatswain's pipe or boatswain's whistle (pronounced "Bosun") is a whistle that is made of a tube that directs air over a grape-sized metal sphere with a hole cut in the top. The player’s finger holds the sounding chamber and causes a change in the pitch by opening and closing the hole.
The historical use of the boatswain's pipe was as a signaling device on a ship. Because of its high pitch, it could be heard over the activities of the crew and bad weather.
And it is still used in marine on the ships to inform the crew if the captain is on board or left the ship.the same ceremony happens at the hatchway everytime with the crew on guard for the commander of the ship or for the high ranked guests.
Two days before I had started a serie of this whistlers. This was the third shot from the competition between the blowers and two more shots behind to share with you.

After three I took time to read your note & found it interesting, I Like in each the color elements and the choice of the closed shot, so we can observed the particularitys of the boys face.

Nice shot - of the 3 - this my favorite. Good focus, DOF, and exposure. A little miss on his small finger with the PP. Overall a good photo.
very interesting detail doing the hand in color and leaving the rest as is, there is a small overlap of color from his little finger, good idea though,
Christine.
Nice series of Naval Photographs
Like this portrait
and selective saturation
NICE ONE
