A boatswain's pipe or boatswain's whistle (pronounced "Bosun") is a whistle that is made of a tube that directs air over a grape-sized metal sphere with a hole cut in the top. The player’s finger holds the sounding chamber and causes a change in the pitch by opening and closing the hole.
The historical use of the boatswain's pipe was as a signaling device on a ship. Because of its high pitch, it could be heard over the activities of the crew and bad weather.
And it is still used in marine on the ships to inform the crew if the captain is on board or left the ship.the same ceremony happens at the hatchway everytime with the crew on guard for the commander of the ship or for the high ranked guests.
Three days before I had started a serie of this whistlers. This was the fourth shot from the competition between the blowers and one more shot behind to share with you.

Compared to number 3, this one is slightly out of focus and the white backgroung too ditracting. The colouring touch is still nice and fits in nicely with the composition.

I was in in the Navy. I appreciate how you isolated the symbology of the this photo by desaturing everything except for the boatswain's pipe. Interesting shot.
