BOATSWAIN'S PIPE P .V
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A boatswain's pipe or boatswain's whistle (pronounced "Bosun") is a whistle that is made of a tube that directs air over a grape-sized metal sphere with a hole cut in the top. The players finger holds the sounding chamber and causes a change in the pitch by opening and closing the hole.
The historical use of the boatswain's pipe was as a signaling device on a ship. Because of its high pitch, it could be heard over the activities of the crew and bad weather.
And it is still used in marine on the ships to inform the crew if the captain is on board or left the ship.the same ceremony happens at the hatchway everytime with the crew on guard for the commander of the ship or for the high ranked guests.
Four days before I had started a serie of this whistlers. This was the fifth and the last shot from the competition between the blowers. But I decided to view it next year again, and more likely to hear them :-)

I like it:)
nice composition
cool frame:)
Perfect focus and contrast. B&W was a perfect choice. I like the shorter guy in front with the taller one in back. Great capture and a useful note too!
