in turkey ,tea is the main drink for lots of people.they start drinking tea in the breakfast,and the whole day.in night period,if they don't drink alcohol,tea time never ends.tea should be hot and dark-blood colored.in some eastern regions they don't serve tea-spoon,but a different kind of sugar;they put the sugar cube in the mouth and take the sip afterwards,it's called as 'kırtlama' and the people who ask for a tea-spoon are subject of a common laugh there.
they never put milk into tea in Turkey,maybe just a small piece of a lemon.they prefer to drink it in glasses as in the pic,not in porcelains or such things.one should feel the hot tea with his finger touch and the mouth afterwards.
In this pic,we see the woman behind is getting cold and a cup of tea would solve her problem if she would have accepted the offer like her husband had. |
