THE PAST. The modern way of imploding a building which was next to this famous landmark the World Trade Centre. Just a few seconds under 15, the old hotel went down to a rubble. Now in a few months time a high rise residential building will add to Dubai's beautiful and glamorous skyline.

ISO 400 was used.

Many thanks guys. Keep well :D

Jeffrey

Hi Jeff,
Great capture! Well timed to capture the fall of the building. Your city does have a very beautiful skyline to begin with, I'll look forward to photos from you once this new structure is complete! Excellent decision to use the faster ISO. Well done. Cheers, Todd

i remember this building.. when i was working in dubai... my office was opposite the WTC buildings..

Thanks for the visual update..

cheers

Stunning capture! great timing! And since this was shot two years ago, do you have a shot of what is there now? that would be most interesting indeed!

Hi Jeffrey,

That is pretty much true. Change is continuous. It is really unbelievable that it took less than 15 seconds to implode the building. Technology!!!

I like your POV and colors. The dust is really very terrible. TFS.

Hi Jeff
Quite chilling, because it's almost impossible to view this without thinking of another WTC, another collapse - and the fact that there were living people inside.
Very well captured my friend, sharp and dramatic.

Excellent capture of an interesting moment in time Jeffrey. You don't see a photo like this every day.

Geff,

great capture! Ang galing!

Minsan lang akong dumaan ng Dubai, pero bawat sulok yata merong itinatayong building.

Hi Jeffrey

Excellent timing. Good exposure and a well documented event. Well done! :-)

Nice shot and cpature of the cloud of dust.

It's not an everyday thing to see a building (especially a famous one) going down.

Tom

Hello Jeffrey !

May I dare ask you . I guess you took a serie of photos when it was actually going down. Could you work on a montage.....

From this angle it, looks a bit like the WTC exploded at the base and is about to collapse (^_^). Dubai is groing too fast. The Hotel was certainly not very old. But your City is growing incredibly too fast (^_^).

TFS,
Robert

PS. Some of those implosions are more pleasant than others to remember. :(

It reminds me of a rocket on the launch pad at Cape Canaveral. Perfect moment. A few seconds later and all that remained is a bit of dust so you got the last few moments of this buildings life.

Hello Jeffrey,
This is an excellent action shot. Exposure and moment caught are impressive. This is very well done. Dubai seems to be a very modern (and rich) city. A member of my family went there recently and she was very impressed by it. Well done! Thanks,
Claudine
