[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Bird's Eye View
Another shot of the Birdie On Top, this time showing the whole panorama w/ the imposing Burj Al Arab Hotel. This is the second perch of this homey birdie and it stayed a bit longer so I could capture it in this POV.

Burj Al Arab is the highest 5-star hotel in the world. It has some architectural entases or optical illusions like the horizontal lines per floor. Actually, it is composed of 2 floors not one, making it appear to have less floors when viewed afar and have shocking effect of scale when your near this monumental edifice. Statue of Liberty can fit snuggly into its very high atrium lobby. It is built away from the shore so as not to enshadow the Jumeirah Beach Hotel nearby and to make it less accessible. Before reaching the long wavy bridge to go there, a collapsible wall of baricade behind another fence is lowered so you could enter.
An all-suite hotel w/ a butler in each room, I enjoyed its lofty living and dining spaces and the game room w/ pool table. The bedroom had a very big 4 poster bed that I needed to step up just to get in. A luscious en-suite bathroom as large as normal living rooms is available w/ its delicate mosaic art.

Pp work:
1. crop
2. copy paste some sky pic from other pics and use Curves to make it more dramatic
3. select other elements like the building, foreground and birdie, and delete those from the sky layer
4. sharpen, add border, and resize

Nice shot with beautiful soft colors.This is very well composed and the bird adds more interest to that quiet moody picture.That hotel is always fascinating with its special sail structure.

Freddie, I love pictures like this that leave me wondering where to start about good things to say. Yes, I like the color of the sky, which are dramatic, indeed. Then there's the very pleasing juxtaposition of interesting architecture, old and new, the inviting ocean, the hint of cloud, and the bird in the foreground, perfectly perched, and adding perspective to the whole frame. Nicely done.

Hi Fred, Your title is a great allegory of the bird's eye view :)

Very well composed image, all the lines are straight, great cityscape.
The colours are very well balanced.

Great contrasting form of the ball and the linear building.

I read you note on the PP work adding the sky and adjusted the curves for drama. It is well done but it added some magenta to the top-right corner. This is the only thing that I am not sure about.

But the rest of the image is plendid to my taste and very well executed.

I really like this composition. You have pushed the big important hotel almost completely out of the image and replaced it with a bird. But, even the bird is moved over and we are left with the sea and the sky. Philosophically, these are the things that will really last. Well done. Reid
