So let there be light! :)

Pp work:
1. darken some clutters
2. sharpen the bezel

About your note: you can also make a HDR. Than you have shade and highlights in balance.

Beautiful exposure of the lamp, I like the low shooting angle, it shows the intricate pattern of the glass holder nicely.

Good pp work to concentrate on the subject and also to eliminate noise, which I suspect must have been present in the original shot.
Kind of a phot lesson illustration.
