[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is Dubai, United Arab Emirates, at night along the upmarket restaurant strip.
It is July and 41 degrees C with 99% humidity.
It cooled off to a very tolerable 31 degrees C at night. The sky is indeed purple due to the high moisture and particle content in the air.
To avoid security issues at the airport I did not take the usual DSLR but just the little pocket digital. I put the camera on a railing and clicked.
These little cameras are just great for exactly this purpose. Karin

PS. For those of you who want a giggle -- I have traveled from Antarctica to the UAE and Yemen within the same week.

It is the perfect place...the place of my dreams, some day I want to be there.
Congratulations

Unlike Mary, I lived there for just over four years and am very happy to be away :-) Singapore is, in my opinion, light years ahead.

Where is this, exactly, near the Jumierah Beach Hotel? It's a very pleasant composition with the light shimmering on the water giving a great effect.

There is a faint turquoise colour still seen on the water at this time of the evening. Excellent angle to compose the image and include the water and buildings. The lights pointed to the water don't seem to distract the attention. Good cropping and exposure to present the scene. This look like a beautiful place. Thanks Karin.
