Another cloudy sunset shot of Jumeirah Beach here in Dubai. From afar, you can see Burj Al Arab (one of 7-star hotel here in UAE). The sun was still up when I arrived in the beach which gave me ample time to look for a good point of view to shoot (this is my first time in this place). I submerge quarter of my tripod to the water to shoot this and the sun was still up that's why I need to wait until the sky becomes warm. I waited for about 10 minutes before shooting. My tripod is always moving because the water wave is constantly eating the sand where my tripod is standing, that's why I need to regularly check the viewfinder. I know that this is not an extraordinary picture but at least, with the time I spent on it really tested my patience.

It is an absolutely beautiful image Edwin !

The exposure on the rocks in front is extremely well handled.

With the sun in the background, the contrast must have been too much for your camera, did you use a ND grad filter, or have you done some clever post processing ?

Jacques

I think this is well done. Al the main elements in the photo is beautifully lit up by the available light, making everything crisp and sharp. I also like the composition, very pleasing on the eye.

Really nice photo Edwin. What stop ND grad did you use and do you use a hard or soft edge? I like the water blur also, can I ask what your exposure time was? I like the sense of depth you get from the tiny silhouettes of the buildings in the background, the picture wouldn't be the same without the. Best, Steve

Superb shot!!! Excellent exposure and POV ...and your a very brave man for bringing your camera so close to the water! lol
