we were invited for an outdoor glamour shoot on friday the 13th. we used an abandoned building with full of graffiti nearby the beach and i used hair movements (in the few sets) and realistic approach in this rock chick theme. special thanks to mika for cooperating with us.
shots fired with nikita (d300) using nifty fifty (50mm) and strobist setup: one portable strobe (alien bees) with softbox as main, camera left; one speedlight behind the model as hairlight, camera left; another speedlight with beauty dish as fill, camera right and above the model; and speedlight pointed towards the graffiti, camera right.
thanks for viewing. |

Hi Jeff - I find the BG to be very eye catching.. An unusual studio prop!! Your model's well lit (and eye catching too!)
The only thing I will be negative about is that she looks a little cut off.. Did you do this in the portrait format? I'm sure the pic with all of her legs and feet would be good..

Hello Jeff!
Looks like a Manga World (^_^) Mika is indeed a pretty model , fitting well for this shoot. I agree with David . I would further add her black jacket against the grafitti is not rendering justice to her pretty silhouette. Her cheeks are also slightly overexposed.
I might suggest you another POV:
Moving further at the right shooting toward the actual left , and her further left, would have given better result. She would be then at the left of the grafitti at the left of your compo and the two thirds of your shot would have revealed the grafitti. At the same occasion, you would have been more distent , we would see her completely..
Just a few thoughts (^_^)
Cheers!
Robert
Great shot! Great light! Great note!
