Büyük Mecidiye Camii, halk arasında Ortaköy Camii

İstanbul Boğaziçi’nde Beşiktaş ilçesinin, Ortaköy semtinde sahilde bulunan Neo Barok tarzda bir camiidir.
Cami, Sultan Abdülmecit tarafından Mimar Nigoğos Balyan’a 1853 yılında yaptırılmıştır. Oldukça zarif bir yapı olan cami Barok üslubundadır. Boğaziçi’nde eşsiz bir konuma yerleştirilmiştir. Bütün selatin camilerinde olduğu gibi harim ve hünkar bölümü olmak üzere iki kısımdan oluşur. Geniş ve yüksek pencereler Boğaz’ın değişken ışıklarını caminin içine taşıyacak biçimde düzenlenmiştir.
Merdivenle çıkılan yapının tek şerefeli iki minaresi vardır. Duvarları beyaz kesme taştan yapılmıştır. Tek kubbenin duvarları pembe mozaiktendir. Mihrap mozaik ve mermerden, mimber ise somaki kaplı mermerden yapılmıştır ve ince bir işçiliğin ürünüdür.

officially the Büyük Mecidiye Camii (Grand Imperial Mosque of Sultan Abdülmecid) in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, Turkey, is situated at the waterside of the Ortaköy pier square, one of the most popular locations on the Bosphorus.
The original Ortaköy Mosque was built in the 18th century. The current mosque, which was erected in its place, was ordered by the Ottoman sultan Abdülmecid and built between 1854 and 1856. Its architects were Armenian father and son Garabet Amira Balyan and Nigoğayos Balyan (who also designed the nearby Dolmabahçe Palace), who designed it in Neo-Baroque style. Within the mosque hang several examples of Islamic calligraphy executed by the Sultan Abdülmecid himself, who was also a hattat (master calligrapher).
The wide, high windows let the ever-changing light reflections of the Bosphorus shine in the mosque.

Hi Burak,

The temple looks very nice sitting near the edge of the water, the pov is great as is the dof good colours and sharp details well done my friend.
