[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken in the city of Bodrum. Bodrum is famous for Halicarnassus, city on the Ceramic Gulf of ancient Caria, now the Gulf of Gökova in southwest Turkey. The city was founded by the Dorians and was conquered by the Persians in the 5th century bc. Later, having freed itself from Persian rule, the city became the capital of the independent province of Caria and the seat of the Carian kings, the most famous of whom was Mausolus (flourished about 376-353 bc). He was commemorated with a tomb called the Mausoleum, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Greek historians Herodotus and Dionysius of Halicarnassus were born in the city. In the beginning of the 15th century, Halicarnassus was fortified by the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem, who named it Petronion in honor of St. Peter. Ruins of their castle and of the ancient city are found at Bodrum.
This is one of the ehxibits in the Bodrum castle.
The original of the ruins of Halicarnassus are kept in the British Museum, London.

Hello Maria, you have a beautiful shot here. I especially like the rope separating the picture, beautiful composition. However, I am not really fon of the frame. Maybe a think white frame would have been better. The photograph in itself is perfect.

These are the Earth colors. I like the composition and the frame, although the cord can be retired.

Nice earthy tones with a very simple composition. I like the rope as well as the frame. Very nicely done. Does take us back to an ancient period in time.

without the amphoras in the center it would be a totaly abstract compo... I'd like in that way but also with them, as a touch of reality.....

Very nice picture, Marija with all of its pastel tones. I like your tight crop to show us only a few of the objects. I am not certain about the rope as it goes across one of the wheels at the bottom; but I know that there was probably not much you could do about it having taken this picture in a museum. I like the facts that the amphoras seem to be placed randomly in the oven-like structure. Well done!

Hi marija This is a very nice composition you've captured the one item i like to see with museum shots and thats the rope. The soft colors with the clarity of focus ahs produce a fantasic image well done

Nice cropped; you show a good taste in composition.
I like some more colour in it, but that's a matter of taste.
The frame is good coloured, although a little too wide.

I like the different arc shapes placed throughout the composition - and the pastel "warm" colors go beautifully together. Wonderful composition - and I love the frame! Love the color, and love the width. In my opinion, it really brings out the warm orange and yellow tones in the shot.

Hello Marija,

To tell the truth colour is not frequent guest in my photos... but I am a great fan of colourful photography. As far as above photo concerned I love its premeditiated composition with tight frame. In my opinion your understanding of colour's role in this picture is similar like my. When colour appears in my photos it is everything... it builds compostion, mood... it is just the main actor.
