The Historical Acadian Village is located near Caraquet in New Brunswick Province.
A remarkably authentic historical site in North America (Phoenix Award Winner and Attractions Canada 2001/2002), the Village Historique Acadien strives to portray the lives of Acadians between 1770 and 1939. More than 40 complexes are staffed by interpreters in period costume who bring ancestral customs and traditional trades back.

The building posted here is the Poirier Tavern where one came to the tavern either for a drink or to fill up an empty bottle or jug.

A map showing the location of the Village has been uploaded in Workshop
Scanned 35mm slide in tiff, with PS Element 2, cropped, slightly increased contrast, resized for TL and saved in jpeg

Nicely nestled in between the trees. Romantic setting and good historical note on an important era in Canadian history. I would not have guessed that this was a tavern!

Hello Pierre,
A nice and peaceful looking area – it must be wonderful to spend a couple of days with one’s soul mate at a place like this one!
I bet that there are lots of squirrels there!

Bonjour Pierre,
Seems like a very good setting for a Tavern - I would not mind filling up my jug here.
If I can not travel this - looking at this picture - is the next best thing.

A really quiet mood is conveyed here. Perhaps it's the lack of people but it might be the low POV.
