A photo taken by my husband Captain Anders A Rasmussen while we were aboard his ship the MV ALGOLAKE. We were sailing across Lake Superior at the time. The largest of the 5 great lakes, it is bounded by Ontario and Minnesota to the north and Wisconsin and Michigan to the south, is the largest of North America's Great Lakes. It is the largest freshwater lake in the world by surface area and is the world's third largest freshwater lake by volume. It has a surface area of 31,820 square miles. While sailing from the upper end to the lower end it takes 30 hours on this ship! The ship itself is a bulk cargo ship 730' long and 75' wide my husband likes to say it has a 9 story apartment building on the end! He has a crew of 27 but during this trip had an extra passanger to worry about ..ME! We were out walking around so he could do an inspection of the ship before they laid her up for the season. I just finished writing a story about my trip there that you can find on my website.
thanks for visting my gallery and for your comments on my (husbands) photo! :o)

Hi Donna,
you looks so cold! I hope you had him warm you up after this picture session. Nice shot , I must say you instructed him well. Very nice of you to share a glimpse into your life on the ship with us.
Sky

Great. He even has the rule of thirds in operation! :-)

Cold? Well, you should have gone down to the engine! :-)

At your service! But can you ask Captain Anders A Rasmussen ór to keep the camera horizontal ór to keep his ship level (preferably the last) :) Joking Donna; nice action shot of you at the ships deck. Must be an interesting life on a ship at the Great Lakes. Makes me a bit jealous. Fine posting TFS!

:) Later....

Mrs Captain does look a tad cold. Excellent POV Anders and it looks like you can pilot a camera as well as a ship. TFS Donna,
David
