***Whoo hoo!! I just got a phone call from my friend Jerry who has invited me to a movie filming where Jerry and his horse Lacy are featured! Seems there is a movie that is being made about the teams of people who work to save missing children, adults etc. The first filming is with Texas Eqqui-Search! I had already taken the day off, so this is an added treat! I can't wait to take some shots of the filming!
B-)

This was taken last Christmas, after a Loooooooooooong day with Silke and Roy, Dave and the kids at Niagara Falls. Remember this Silke?
I was going through my files last night and tried an HDR on a scene that I had taken several shots of. While the tree is central, which breaks the rules (god forbid I should break a rule) I found this picture so beautiful in color, I didn't care. so there!

A funny story: My son is 22 and had never seen ice like this before. We get out of our car and he takes off on a dead run, does a belly flop and slides as far as he can slide...I was laughing so hard I forgot to take a picture! Shelby caught it ALL on her video portion of her camera. My son is VERY quiet and VERY reserved...but every so often, he does something like this that just sends me into stitches. TWICE I have had him scream from the back seat to STOP THE CAR!!!!!
Once, to chase an armadillo and the other to chase a chicken! HAHAHAHA! Both times we had tears rolling down our faces!
Hope you all have a great day! Today is a day of rest as tomorrow is the half marathon!.......tic tic tic tic
B-)

Hi Linda,
The different colors are awesome! I think the central placement of the tree is a bit too central. Did you consider cropping the right? Its an empty space with a bright streetlight that claims attention. I think a composition with just the different colors and filled with the silhoutted trees might be better
TFS,
Niek

Oh Linda, it is a so beautiful nigth photo, colors ligth and details r really great, I love the tree

Hello Linda!
I love this atmosphere and the colours!
Beautiful your work!
Excellent reflections!
Best regards!
Lili

HI Linda...nice winter shot..it makes me feel the cold (we had 70 degrees yesterday). Great exposure and light..you must have been freezing taking the picture.

Roger

Hi Linda,
Oh it looks very cold and very icy! did you use a tripod?
I am not good at night shots! I love the way the sky looks... amazing lights as well

Tricia

Hi Linda,
this is beautiful - and I'm always amazed to see HDR-shots, everything is to see, no dark area, nothing too bright, here is the perfect example, very well done.
Greetings and enjoy the weekend

Hi Linda,
Wonderful HDR photo again with beautiful, versatile colours. Perfect winter feeling, good representation of this Christmas ornament on the bald tree. Lights are really nice, moody image. TFS.
Greetings,
Kristof

Such a great mood and full of color this shot is Linda.
The light in the tree are a hoot.
The red to purple and blue is just gorgeous.
Well resolved night shot!

Hi Linda, I'm not too sure about this image. Maybe the Christmas tree in the centre doesn't help. I'd have cropped off the lighted area to the tree on the right. (IMHO)
But good practice with the HDR.
Yes, just saw Niek's WS - that's what I would have done.
The colours of the lights leave a pretty golden glow on the snow.
Good luck on the half-marathon Linda.
Janice

HI Linda,

Being a "rebel", I think it's fine to break the rules (as far as a centered tree). I bet Michelangelo broke some rules too! LOL This is just a fun, colorful shot. I like the reflections of the colors on the ice. I especially like how the sky is retaining the blue coloring. The warm color lights add a feeling of warmth to this cold scene. The only thing missing is your son....sliiiiiiiiiiidinggggggg on the ice! LOL Lisa

this is awesome linda, the colors are brillaint, fine details, excellent post,
thanks,
scott

Absolutely fantastic clour of the sky, Linda! I like this colourful reflection on the ice.
Best regrds, Ewa

HI Linda
I remember your talking about a cowboy whose job was searching for missing people.
Would this be the same person?
So the tree is in the middle, I was always told rules were made to be broken, and if you like the placement that is what's important. Personnaly having Xmas lights I also like it to be centered.
WEll done with great colours.

Great capture
beautiful colours
nice job with HDR

After taking my breath away with this beautiful night festive photo, I had fun reading your note.
Amazing colors. This is the kind of view we will never see here in Monterrey, Mexico, so I did not notice anything wrong with the composition. That tree with the lights deserve to be in the center. TFS

Hi Linda

The blue lights in the tree, contrast well, against the artificial purple & red lighting. Superb sharpness, & good saturation & contrast. Tfs!

Hi Linda, fascinating Christmas composition with fantastic light, I like a lot, very well done, have a good Sunday, ciao Silvio

Hi Linda

Linda,

A very cold mood indeed. Excellent HDR presentation.
All the elements is very well placed.

Cheers,
Ramon

Lovely wintery holiday scene, Linda, yet with some compositional issues, as others have mentioned. I did a quick workshop before noticing that Niek already did, but will post it anyway to show that it can be cropped even further to tighten the scope of attention. I like the contrasts and colors for the festive mood. Nice HDR work, too:)

Hello Linda,
You've created a lovely atmosphere in this compo; love the colours and reflections.
Regards,
Henri
