[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
When I was practising food shots in the winter, I played around with mushrooms from various angles. I loved the textures of these delicious fungii, so the Friday Theme challenge this week (especially the requirement for black and white) prompted me to pull this one out of my archives.

Tech: Shot with handheld flash bounced off white foamcore to create subtle shadows
Captured in RAW, adjusted levels, and contrasts in RAW, converted to jpg, desaturated, increased contrasts, resized, sharpened, and signed

Thanks for visiting and for your workshops and suggestions and have a wonderful weekend.

Thanks so much Silke for this morning, I sure needed it! Love this! Very nice work, and mushrooms don't have much color anyways, so these are great for the BW stipulation. Super sharp and I love the black BG!
B-)

Silke Hi:
Wonderful theme presentation. You have composed and presented amazing detail and texture all presented very sharply in a diagonal fashion. My wife loves the basket, by the way.
Thanks for the note
Congratulations, very nicely done.

This one has me smacking my lips, I love mushrooms!! Nice detail and I like the b&w, nice black bg. Have a great day!

Hi Silke,
There ain't mushroom in that basket, sorry bad joke.
This works well in Black and white as does the diagonal composition, a good use of the bounced flash as the lighting is great.
Well done
Regards Andy

Unfortunately I am the only one in this house who eats them Silke and the smell turns all others off so I eat mine raw. Excellent POV to make the most of the textures not only of the mushrooms but the basket. Good work with the flash and well converted,
David

Hi Silke,
I like the detail in the mushrooms as well as the basket. The different textures are certainly noticable in the mushrooms. I really like this in B&W. Nice work.
Regards,
Kevin

ciao Silke..
so nice idea.. and really greedy! interesting details! perfect framing.. and good for the friday theme! thanks
ciao Marco

Nicely composed image, good angle shot. And the fungi look very real.
OKAY - now which are the poisonous mushrooms Silke?
Janice

Indeed, the textures work, because in B&W you really need that. You have to turn the mushrooms over to get those delicate textures I love to see.

Hi Silke,

One should never play with his food, however this kind of playing really pays of. Attractive work in B&W.
I suppose the coloured version also looks quite natural with white, browns and beiges...

a very professional posting. Well composed with the basket on the diagonal. A good range of "colours" and that black BG is really black.

hello Silke

This is a great macro for still shot and very well arranged basket of items to be your subject. A good sharp capture. What I like best is the texture and detail of the lines for the basket and mushroom.
