A superb day today, the sun was shining on another cloud free day.

I had to attend to the port of Becancour today. Since I had some spare time during lunch time , I stopped in the village before headimg back to the office.

Beside this beautiful old house, I saw this old tree, who seemed to blink to me. As it is winter, we can appreciate how old it is, looking at the size of the trunk. It was trimmed many times , but it is still strong.

Today it is difficult to get a tree like this in your backyard . Lots are too small. Too often all the trees are cut to make the foundations of the houses. Municipal laws often oblige land owners to plant a minimum of one tree. But it takes one or two generations before you have a decent size. even after a century, it will never be of that size, as the roots will not have sufficient space to spread, bewtween the constructions. This is why I love old villages along the Saint-Lawrence River. You can appreciate hsitoric houses surrounded by massive old trees.

Technically . Cropped the left end of the photo, where electric cables were visible. Converted to Black and white. Filtered, resized and framed.

Cheers!
Robert

Carol

beautiful old trees that demo the strength of life. i always feel pity when trees have to be chopped down for development. its happen very often here in our country, a developing country.

Bonsoir Robert,

Il me suffisait d'avoir l'oeil inquisiteur.
