Back with the note.......

An image captured this morning after I boarded the ship and fog patches came in. About the composition, in order to have a view of the rolling fog, I took a general view instead of a tight crop. In the background, a stripe of clouds, and fog can be seen , while here it was rolling above ground level.

It lifted eventually , and we had a lovely day....

Well The ship is now starting her 15th and ultimate voyage for 2008. Contract completed . She will have carried a total of about 210 complete windmill towers.
That makes an impressive field of windmills! I will have the pleasure to meet the crew in 2009 for another contract.

Previous posts of the BBC Elbe taken in 2007 and here also and earlier this year

Technically: Image uncropped Time: 08:58 hrs Focal 18mm ASA 100ASA . Polarizer used, to avoid harsh light on whites as the sun was pretty strong.

Good shot. But why border is so big? I think with small border you will archive better attention on details of picture. Or this shot is for magazine?

Intersting shot I like the low angle and how it is coming in.

Hello Robert,
It sure is rolling in.. Perfect place at the right time!
Love how you captured the both sides of your shot... I love the low hanging clouds in the BG

ps .. no wall trips due to company rules.. we will try again next summer

Hi Robert,

Very enjoyable to see the fog roll in. Not sure how that works for ships on see, but here it is great.
Those windmills you are talking about, are they placed in the sea somewhere? Here in Holland we have created a whole park just outside the coast (I will upload a picture in your WS).

Beautiful presentation of this neat image.

Hi Robert.
Wonderful photo. It is amazing how the left side is in the fog while the right one is clear. Lovely blue sky and great light on the ship.

hi Robert

Fog scene is always mysterious and to capture it on a photo is one of our excitements about nature.

The fact that the sky has blue gradient adds a fine touch to this fog scene even more strongly.

I like the color contrast brought out by the light on the ship and with the 2 crane arms up in the air.

Hi Robert.
Great composition. Both sides of the picture increase the depth and stand out the blue color.
Congratulations.

Salut Robert,

Bravo!
