You know only a master such as you are can use a flash and make it work. This is wonderful! The BW tones are just amazing and the flash has given you a darker BG so that the whole focus is on this sweet little guy's face! Sharp as a tack! I love this one Annie!!

Bonsoir Annie,

Très beau N&B montrant de belles tonalités. Le fond sombre fait un peu dramatique pour une photo d'enfant, par contre il isole très bien le sujet et concentre toute l'attention sur lui. Tres bonne netteté, tres bonne exposition. Bref du très beau travail.

It is not apparent that you have used a flash!
There seems to be a soft light throughout the shot.
I love how you have positioned him in the frame so that his arms act like borders to keep the attention on himself. Lovely details and so engaging.
You will have delightful memories to share with him when he is a little older!

Qui refuserait à ce charmant bambin de jouer avec lui???
Pas moi en tout cas, la passion de la petite enfance étant mienne!!!
Joli portrait en NB, mon petit dernier avait les mêmes jouets que ce petit bonhomme!!!
Grâce à eux il se construisait des histoires qui m'amusaient beaucoup!!!
Ce moment est merveilleux et bravo de nous le faire si gentiment partager!!!

Très joli portrait de Xavier en pleine conversation avec ses figurines.
Vu son air concentré, ça doit être super intéressant ;-)
Le noir et blanc ajoute un petit effet intemporel a ce cliché universel d'un enfant en train de jouer avec le plus beau jeu : sa propre imagination. Bien vu!

hello Annie,
I am very impressed with this shot as you have the same camera as myself but manage to take such wonderful images. I would not have guessed that a flash was used here. My attempts with flash result in black shadows...ugh! Xavier is a delightful subject for you to photograph.His concentration on his toys is very sweet. Is he your grandson? If so congratulations and if I may I will add this to my theme "Grandmother's Club".

Ce qu'il est mignon ton petit-fils , tu ne manqueras pas de le prendre en photo à la moindre occasion car il est super photogénique ce bambin. Le flash ne semble pas avoir déconcentré Xavier tellement il est ` hypnotisé ` par ses jouets, bon control de la brillance des blancs ici , bien réussi en noir et blanc et la netteté est sans reproche et j'ai la nette impression que l'on va le revoir sur ce site dans un avenir rapproché , hi hi !

I always prefer the colour versions, but oyu have done well here with the B&W.
Isn't it lovely how their little personalities come through and they start playing games without any help.. You wonder how they learnt to do so.
