Hello Dot,

My heart melts at the sight of these two friends! I tried to do something similar with my cats but they would have none of it!

A lovely comparative shot with excellent details of both cats. The intense interest of the kitten compared with the 'cool' attitude of big brother is very amusing!

Whilst it's a nice sharp image Dot I find that the direct flash really changes the tone of the image (or the mood maybe I should say).. Have you tried putting a couple of layers of tissue over the flash - this works even on a compact camera - to diffuse the light and make the scene less 'formal'?

I also think a crop to square format might work better - although that's my personal opinion and I may be totally wrong LOL

Cute pair of cats for the theme. I have to agree about the flash which tends to make the contrast less obvious and it is always worth considering natural light and try many ways to make it work.

I suppose using Olympux 730 may post some restrictions but no harm trying.

It's a good thing we have no neighbouring farm, otherwise my house would be filled with cats. The huge dogs will be kept in line by the cats, they seem to know how to freighten even the biggest dog.
A lovely peaceful picture with big and small.
