Here is another photo of the northern gannets from the huge Ile bonaventure colonie.

The Northern Gannet frequents the open waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence from late March until November, exceptionally into December. It nests on island cliffs and cliff tops exposed to the wind for easy takeoff. The female lays a single egg, which takes an average of 44 days to incubate. The chick is fed by both parents for 82 to 99 days.
The main prey species of Gannets nesting in the Gulf of St. Lawrence are Atlantic Mackerel, Atlantic Herring, American Sand Lance and sometimes Capelin. At the end of the breeding season, the birds head down the U.S. east coast to Florida and the Gulf of Mexico to winter.
There are six Northern Gannet colonies in North America: three in Newfoundland and three in the Québec Gulf of St. Lawrence. The largest colony is on Bonaventure Island, which counted more than 53 000 pairs in 2004. In the same year, 23 500 pairs were counted on Rocher-aux-Oiseaux and another 221 at the northeast point of Anticosti Island. Numbers at the two large Gulf colonies are currently rising.

I wish you a superb day.
Luc

What a crowd Luc :)) repetitive view of the birds look great, a little soft on the birds though.. very good cropping and the slope of the hill running diagonally across the full scene gives an extra effect, thanks

aK

Great note and great image. The repetition of the birds on the ground makes a superb foreground and the white contrasting against the blues of the sea and sky is very appealing.

nice one!

This is looking like our local gannet colony on the west coast of Auckland Luc! Our birds are arriving and getting ready to lay their eggs soon.
Busy scene here, and it makes you wonder how the birds find each other. And what a smell too! Great picture, TFS

They really are an attractive bird Luc. Well composed with that strong diagonal covered by gannets. The birds on wing and the blues of the sky and water are superb. Well done and TFS,

Many thanks for your comment on ' Anniversary Rose’

I will return with an award...I did

Composition-wise, I like this one more than the previous one, especially all those layers in the sky, but the birds on the ground look too blurry to me.
