An other heavy post process.
I first did the usual ajustement if needed, in level.
If you shot for highlights, small ajustement in the dark tones will give you extra saturation, without loosing the over all luminosity of the image. Minor ajustement of colors if needed.
Then I unlock the layer 0(it gives you full rangeoption over editing the layer),
1-Using the "magic wand", I unchecked "contiguous" mode that only selected close range pixels, by unchecking that option, the selection of the magic wand, we now can select, all pixels of the same tonal range,or closer (depending of tolerance you've choosen) to the initial pixel selected. Try different "tolerance level" more will select a larger part of the image, and less the opposite.
The I inverse the selection, copy and paste in a new layer, becoming layer 1. We have a top layer, and the sky is gone..))) The one you see only exist on Layer 0
Back to layer 0, I used diffent type of filters for effect, cloods ect... could have also used saturation of colors.
Back to layer 1
Desaturated the image to the maximum, turning it into a black and white...)))) (yes an other way))))
Merge layers, then save as... |

Hi Denis,
This shot does nothing for me I'm afraid but that is just a personal view, however the shot is well composed and in good focus. You have good detailed notes to accompany which imo justifies the smiley. TFS
