Hi sue,
This is great macro shot with perfect texture and sharpness. My preference would be not to centralise the image and blur the background further(or a clean background, may be a black cardboard) will give more impact to the subject in concern.

Balwant

Bonsoir Susan!

I am not great at doing macros or close-ups but here I might suggest a few things:
1) Avoid the distractive background by putting a black linen behing , The narrow depth of field will make it disappear completely , leaving pitch black space behind. Blurring the BG , if it is not done meticulously is even more annoying
2) Spray some water over your subject . It will look more lively, fresh , more tasteful and inviting ( despite , I agree the textures here are perfect)
3) Smaller , is better. You can crop part of your orange instead of seeing it completely.
4) Perhaps a third item would complete the composition. My wife , Martine could tell you more abt the deco LOL! She always tells me, not to put things in even numbers but in odd numbers. By doing that you will off-center it automatically.

Cheers!
Robert

Hi Susan,
A very simple yet effective photo. The details are mind-blowing, I feel as if I can reach out and grab it! Excellent focus and colours. Well done.

Scott.
