Bonjour
Ce fut un hiver de Sizerins flammés. Ils étaient nombreux à fréquenter les mangeoires en quête de nourriture. C'est un tout petit oiseau qui fait à peine 13cm de longueur.

Hello
This winter is a Common Redpol winter. They were everywhere around backyard feeders. It is a very small bird that is only 13cm long.
The image was cropped and USM

Enjoy

Serge

Serge,

This impressive image looks much more like an Roger Tory Peterson illustration found in his field guides.

Fanstatic job! Wish I could give more than 2 points.

This is an absolutely stunning capture. Noting the detail of the feathers and the simplicity of the composition both accentuate the image.
Submit it to a Bird Identification book. I think you will find it is marketable.

Lovely capture, Serge.
The plummage details are sharp and there is a fine catchlight in the bird's eye. In fact, she apeears to be posing for you!
I like the nice, off-centre composition with the images set against a very unobtrusive b/g.

The redpolls disappear from our garden in winter and migrate south. However, they are very welcome visitors during the spring and summer. The females can be very agressive towards other birds on the feeders!

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Ciao Serge

Nice framing of this little fellow!
Good details in the plumage,
and the coloured patch on the wing really stands out...
A pleasant composition and good eye contact with the bird!

Great work Serge, and I agree that it is nicer to capture them in a tree vs. a feeder setting. The effect of the light/bright background does wonders for the plumage and colors. Very nice, TFS.
