I almost posted this one last week, but I read Helen's Theme title just in time :)

This is once again from my collection of shots at the Canadian National Exhibition.

I tried these heads from various angles and with various compositions, but this one is the one I preferred - the one with the focus on the centre head and the other two out of focus. The biggest debate I had with myself was whether to crop from the right, but since it is generally better to have more room in front of a face, I decided to leave it as I shot it.

Tech: Captured in raw and adjusted levels, contrast & saturation in raw with PhotoShop CS2, converted to jpg, resized, sharpened, framed very lightly and signed

Thanks for looking and for all your critiques, workshops and suggestions. Have a healthy, happy, and safe weekend.

This just scares me to death! HA! I have a GREAT fear of little green men...or any color Alien for that matter! Nice sharp rich colors Silke! Nice details, perfect for the theme...sometimes I am not mellow like this!
B-)
Linda

I think that exhibition has some scary things on display - like this one.
Silke - mellow it is not (but then I don't know exactly the meaning of that word) - but yellow it is.
Nice placement of your ©.

Hi Silke

Close encounters of the 3rd kind? Good use of the principle of 3, with excellent sharpness & nice color contrasts of green yellow & purple. Tfs!

Silke Hi:
Amazing colors and splendid details, very creative and original
Thanks for the note
Congratulations, very nicely composed and presented, my friend

Hi Silke,
Excellente capture of light on these colorful heads!
The composition is well balanced and you found a good subject for the theme. I read you respond to Els and I appreciated your explanations about the sense of the expression Mellow Yellow. Bravo and thanks!

Hello Silke

Visual and big beautiful presentation!
I like your collection, she makes to see us
where is losing glances and letting to escape
good opportunities of our lives or memoirs!
Congratulations, I like this!

Hello Silke,

A fine, detailed shot of these really very scary looking faces. You're right; they aren't very mellow!
I think it's the lack of an eye-ball and the (well captured) dark reflections in their eye sockets that give them this scary demeanour.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
Many thanks for your warm comments on my 'Mello Yellow' contribution.

I think I prefer these open-mouthed faces to the clowns - they are original. Yes, it certainly suits the mellow yellow these.
Good one Silke
Janice

Hi Silke,
A real winner :-) Great colours, not all "Mellow Yellow" but super sharp. You did a great job on the fair, so many cheerful pictures, this is a special one.

Fresh idea and interesting subject to present,Love contrast on each ET.head and well position of POV with dymic diagonal line,Well sharpness and well control of DOF too.Good work,TFS

Hi Silke,

I must say that there are some interesting things in the museums in Canada! hahahaha. Very neat photo of these alien type heads. I like the diagonal lines formed as well as the background showing a festive atmosphere full of color.

Nice shot for the theme. Lisa

Now these are a different from the smiling clowns Silke. AN excellent POV and lots of that yellow,
David

Hello Silke

Another unusual and effective shot here, I think your choice of angle on this one is just right and the focus spot on,love how you have introduced the text too.

TFS and for joining in the theme

kind regards Helen

alien heads i can comment but not clowns or jokers :D can this scare me? i don't know.. but im sure i don't mellow when i see one.. they are singing opera i think.. excellent capture and sharpness.. a lovely contribution the theme.. tfs..

have a lovely Sunday..

Dearest Silke…
It took my breath away…
What a splendid production…
Even before I opened the thumbnail - I knew it was you, dear…
The colors…
THE COLORS OF PLASTIC !!!
Nothing, and I mean: Nothing - can be compared to the grandioso palette of the colors of plastic…
And those wide open, sexy looking mouths of the aliens…
Killer stuff, Silke…
This violet-magenta-purple on the right… My favorite one…!
Reminds me the color of my car and the carpet in my kitchen…

It touches my heart deeply…

Thanks dear, for sharing this magnificent photo with the world…
Have a most wonderful day, gal

George

………………..

BTW: IMHO- it is grossly underrated but, I hope it will get even more green macaques from the photo experts on the site - after my critique… Will it ?

………………
Also: Thanks for sharing the technical details of the PP with us...
We can certainly learn a lot from them...

..............
Oh, one more thing...
I forget to mention the POV...(the others before me - did, though)...
OK...What a bravado, bold and clever POV...!!!

..............

I like it
This has great shape and deatil
