[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
For all the people that are struggling out of hurricane Ike, which struck a devasting blow to the state of Texas last night, taking lives and destroying so much on its path. Out of the hurricane some towns are now being threathened with a tornado, and Texas apart from its vastness is also known as hurricane alley.
Hoping your faith will help you get back up again.

This cross is located near the site where the HMS Empress of Ireland was hit by a Danish coaler who pierced the hull on the evening of May 28, 1914, sending her to the bottom of the St Lawrence River and taking the lives of 1012 of the 1477 people on board.
It is considered the deadliest maritime disaster in Canadian history.

Hello Dot,
The sepia treatment is effective, there is good tone and contrast, the uncluttered sky enhances the viewer's appreciation of this landmark. This is very thoughtful of you to post this image in light of Ike. Enjoy the remainder of Sunday. Danilo

Hi Dot...
It's pleasure to see your photos and read your notes.
A very beautiful shot and post!
Fine image in B/W tones and nice details...
Best regards,

This is so beautiful DOT! Love the softness here and the sepia is so appropriate here. This major storm happened about once every 20-25 years. So I got 20 years to get outta here! And I will not be here for the next major one, I assure you that! Thanks so much for the tribute, it is so sad!

Hi Dot,

Extremely fine details and use of B&W in this excellent composition - no doubt we all have been thinking about what has happened while the hurricane caused disaster on it's way.
A good choise to let us reflect on that.
