It took me a few seconds to see the cat Dot; I was focussed first on the ripples of the sea.
Must be great to go to the beach before breakfast.
One of our cats looked just the same.
Yes if they feel like it they can totally ignore you.
A lovely composition, with a soft relaxing atmosphere. Thanks!

Hello Dot,

the feline is almost unnoticeable; it's a perfect camouflage indeed and i believe by being so she must be a good predator on the beach. a very nice shot, my friend.

Hello Dot,

I had to do a double take when I read about the cat! I really had not seen it!
However, its behaviour does not surprise me! Cats are haughty, independent creatures who certainly have the measure of us humans!

I like your composition with the deeply textured rocks at a right angle in the f/g and the horizontal lines of the waves making the b/g. The cat is wonderfully camourflaged within this abundance of greys.

i don't even see the cat in thumbnail.. a lovely catch of this scene while waiting for dining room to open.. he totally ignored you maybe because he got used to the visitors.. probably what's in his mind.. they always come and go why should i bother? hehehe.. me and my imagination..

I almost missed kitty in the rocks and sand, Dot. When I saw the title and thumbnail I was reminded of that old show Beachcombers and thought what a perfect presentation of it. I love the wood in this one and the waves coming slowly in. Kitty is cute too, with your good note. Bravo.

Your title attracted me to this post, recalling the TV series of the name years ago on CBC - therefore I was looking for 2 guys at the beach, but what I find? A cat and rocks :)

The rock/wood/sand color tone could easily camouflage everything here, being more or less the same, even the water.
