Hello Chris,

I have to agree, the backdrop is stunning!

My attention was captured by the f/g initially. The dead wood, emerging from the snow, resembles a moose's antlers! I think I was connecting that with 'Don't feed the deer'.

The gap in the trees, with its central shadow, really channels the eyes towards the river and the distant mountains; a well chosen viewpoint.
Great depth of field.

I've seen some of your landscape shots, but this is definitely one of the best you have taken. The snowy peaks in the background are just fntastic as well as the curvy river in the valley and the foreground snow. Perfect lights and clarity. I think you found the best POV to show us this breathtaking place. TFS.
