A wide angled panoramic view of the Bow River Hoodoos, near Banff, on Tunnel Mountain Road with Mount Rundle at right, fully resplendent with a waterfall. The turquoise colour of the water is natural, & attributable to river flour, carried down into the stream from glacial meltwater. Elsewhere, the geological oddities in the mid distance, known locally as 'hoodoos', are called fairy chimneys.

"The classic Hoodoos of the Bow Valley have inspired man for thousands of years. These magical spires are carved by wind and water protected by a hard cap of rock at the peak. They stand guard over the Bow River and Valley like patriotic sentinels of nature."

Excellent job again!
Congratulations and TFS

Huh! I didn't know there were Hoodoos out there. You really got to a lot of places that most of us (western Canadians) have never even seen, Chris. Did you hike up to this spot? Find it on your own, or was there a marked trail up there? It really looks like it's very secluded and off the beaten path.

This is such a great view. The color of the water is fantastic, and the deep rich colors in the distant mountain is great. Then there's the FG .. great textures and colors here too. Great shot.

Trudy

Hello Chris,
I see we share the same souvenirs. I also see you have lots of talent and, of course, a good camera. The best camera will not do a so good shot all by itself and thanks you were behind it. The sharpness and the colours are fantastic. Good shot and TFS.

Hi Chris,

The forest is a natural frame to the river. The curves of the Bow river are assets to the composition. The point of view takes our eyes toward the mountains in the background which is giving depth to the photo. The good light is enhancing the colors of the scenery. Have a nice day.

Pierre

a beautiful blend of blues and browns Chris. the mountain is strikingly beautiful!

Amazing panoramic view
Thanks for sharing

Hello Chris,

A fine 'starting' viewpoint with a steep, scary slope with lots of textural details. I love how this overlaps the distant hills capturing the river between them, perfectly defining f/g, m/g and b/g.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
