[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Even in October, Banff is gearing up for the winter ski season. This is the view from Sulphur Mountain looking back towards the town of Banff at right. Very tricky backlighting here, & I've done a bit of dodging & burning, to retrieve shadow & highlight detail. Hope you like it.

What a spectacular view Chris ... but I know, there is no shortage of this kind of view in the Rockies! Great colors, and great depth to show the snow-capped mountains in the far far distance. Great job.
Trudy

Hi Chris,

you have chosen a great POV for this shot giving us a nice view on the mountains in the BG. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and details. I like the diagonal shaddow, dividing the image on two parts.

Best regards,

Stasa

Hi Chris,

This is a really nice capture of the mountains and valleys below. Visually, the shadow adds a dynamic to the shot that I can only describe as an "awe" factor. It gives us a good idea of how large the mountain is.

TFS,
Werner

Hi Chris.
Gorgeous landscape it is overthere.
The low shadow gives it more dept, but on the other hand a bit disturbing, imo.
Best regards from Jan

Hi Chris,
You had a wonderful POV from this peak. Enlightment is really beautiful and the game of light and shadoq works well on the ridges. The blue sky above the Rockies is splendid, correct exposition. tFS!

Kristof

Ciao Chris

They are amazing geological structures,
and it is easy to see why they attracts photograpers!
The one that I like here is the blue sky that increases another dimension to the scene...
Well framed with a strong lead-in..!

Greetings,

Sergio

Good Morning Chris,

A wonderful shot using excellent light and shade to help create depth to this fine mountainscape.
Excellent dof and well balanced composition.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Chris,

The mountains are framing well the city. The point of view takes our eyes toward the city then toward the Rocky mountains which is giving depth to the photo. The lgood luminosity is enhancing the different tints of the colors of the scenery. Have a nice day.
