[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi Folks , today I have this macro of an ant eating the nectar of a flower bud. this photo I took using manual focus , but instead of focusing with the focus ring , I just set it to very close to its closest focus distance , then moved the camera to achieve focus. at such close proximity the depth of field drops to very very slender , so I had stopped down quite far , and used the flash to get exposure...

for pp, raw to jpeg in photoshop elements 6 a touch of extra noise reduction and exposure compensation.
cropped and resized in faststone image viewer.

thanks for looking
regards
Art

Hi Art,
Boy, you sure did it the hard way...and what a superb result. The DOF and sharpness, spot on.
Peter.

You have an interesting note and way of doing this shot...
I never would have tried something like that but it has worked perfectly.
The detail in this shot is incredible. Great focus and depth of field.
TFS and take care,
Migelo
