[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My job takes me through an interesting part of the city several times a day. I've started to take my camera with me so that I can stop and take some shots when I have time.

I pass by a Ukrainian Orthodox cathedral which has about 4 or 5 of these interesting domes and crosses on top. I liked the starkness of this one against the clear blue uncluttered sky. And also the the side light and shadows. I boosted the contrast quite a lot to accentuate the light and shaded areas.

Have a nice weekend everyone:)

Hi Trudy

Superb graphism, with good sharpness, & a nice colour combination of black & blue. I like the dual lighting on the cross. (light & shadow). Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Trudy,

The graphite grey of the cross makes it stand out well against the blue sky. There are nice shades and tones but the sky is a little grainy imo, maybe due to the fact this is a very small file. TFS

Hi, Trudy -
Great close shot of this amazing cross - you caught with the sun at just the right angle to produce the deep shadows on the left side. I was surprised to see that your focal length was only 43mm - with such a close view I would have expected a much longer telephoto setting. Did you crop it down a lot? If so, you did a good job with minimal background noise resulting. I look forward to seeing more images of this part of your city. Cheers -

Hi Trudy
A nice simple shot that is well exposed. Since I grew up in Winnipeg I find these spires are like icons on the prairies.
