Torn by confusion and doubt, Harn sought out Shul the Oracle of Grace, hoping she could restore his sense of conviction. When he told her of his uncertainty she smiled on him and said gently:
"You can never defeat evil with violence, Kinght of Flame. Aggression and anger only transform you into that which you fear and hate."
"Then how can I defend innocence?"
"By being good. By acts of kindness, forgiveness and love. By healing those who are hurting and teaching those who are willing to learn."
"Teaching them what? How to bow down meekly before their enemies?"
"No. How to maintain the Balance. . ."

On my last post Niraj mentioned how well defined the figures were, and I would just like to repeat that the truly amazing thing about these fire images is that most of the figures are composed of just one or two flame fragments. All I do is recognized the shapes in the fire and cut them out by erasing the surrounding flame to a black background. In both the last post and this one, the Knight of Flames is a single flame, exactly as the fire drew it.
The story series has only two more images in it. Once it is complete, I will post an unrelated fire image with the original source image so you can see exactly what I start with and where it ends up, and perhaps whether you see something different in the flames.
